On 26 September 2024, H.E. Mr. Sathana Kashemsanta Na Ayudhya, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Hellenic Republic, was invited to attend the Opening Ceremony of the First Global Challenge 2024, which is a World Student Robotics Competition, at Panathenaic Stadium in Athens, Greece. More than 3,000 students from over 190 countries are expected to participate and showcase their robotic skills in this remarkable event, which takes place from 26 – 29 September 2024. H.E. Mr. Dimitris Papastergiou, Minister of Digital Governance of the Hellenic Republic, and H.E. Mr. Konstantinos Kyranakis, Deputy Minister of Digital Governance of the Hellenic Republic, jointly delivered opening remarks.

On 27 September 2024, the Ambassador met with Thai students and their mentors and cheered Team Thailand as they competed in robotic matches at Peace and Friendship Stadium in Piraeus, Greece. The Embassy also brought some Thai food to the team.
