ASEAN Plus Bazaar 2025

5 May 2025

During 3 - 4 May 2025 the Royal Thai Embassy, together with other Embassies of the ASEAN member countries in Greece, namely Vietnam (current Chair of the ASEAN Committee Athens), Indonesia and the Philippines, and in cooperation with the Friends of Child (FOC), held the 3rd ASEAN Plus Bazaar at 1st Psychiko Square, Athens. The bazaar is a joint effort to promote ASEAN identity, cooperation and people-people contact between ASEAN member countries and Greece. The Honorary Consulate of Malaysia, the Embassies of Bangladesh, China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, and Pakistan also took part in the event where each country presented their local products, traditional foods and cultural performances. The benefit from this bazaar will be donated to the FOC to support its charity projects for the Greek children of needed families.

The Royal Thai Volunteers Project on the Auspicious Occasion of Her Majesty the Queen’s Birthday Anniversary 3 June 2025

On 5 June 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Athens organised the Royal Thai Volunteers Project on the Auspicious Occasion of Her Majesty the Queen’s Birthday Anniversary 3 June 2025. H.E. Mr. Sathana Kashemsanta Na Ayudhya, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Hellenic Republic, along with the Embassy’s officials and staff, hosted a luncheon for approximately 120 students and staff members at Xatzikyriakou Child Protection Foundation in Piraeus, by catering popular Thai dishes and desserts such as chicken pad thai, roasted chicken, beef massaman curry, vegetable spring rolls, jasmine rice, steamed layer rice cake and steamed coconut custard. The Ambassador also met with Mr. Georgios Dimitriou, Chairman of the Board of Directors, as well as the Foundation’s board members, members of the Ladies’ Committee, and other executives. The Foundation expressed its appreciation to the Embassy for hosting a Volunteers Project luncheon for the second year, which provided an opportunity for the Foundation’s students to experience Thai cuisine. Both sides exchanged views on child protection in Greece and agreed to continue to promote further cooperation in the future.

The Ceremony to Celebrate the Birthday Anniversary of Her Majesty the Queen 3 June 2025

On 2 June 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Athens organised a ceremony to celebrate the Birthday Anniversary of Her Majesty the Queen 3 June 2025. H.E. Mr. Sathana Kashemsanta Na Ayudhya, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Hellenic Republic, presided over the ceremony and led the Embassy’s officials and staff, as well as Thai community and their families residing in the Hellenic Republic to pay homage to Her Majesty the Queen, perform the candle-lighting activity and sign the book of well-wishes on behalf of the Thai communities in the Hellenic Republic, the Republic of Malta, and the Republic of Serbia.

On 29 May 2025, H.E. Mr. Sathana Kashemsanta Na Ayudhya, Ambassador of Thailand to the Hellenic Republic, welcomed Mr. Nakharin Mektrairat, President of the Constitutional Court of the Kingdom of Thailand, other 4 Justices of the Constitutional Court, and participants of the 13th Training Course on "The Rule of Law for Democracy" organised by the Office of the Constitutional Court for a study visit to the Hellenic Council of State in Athens. Ambassador accompanied the delegation to meet Mr. Michalis Pikramenos, President of the Hellenic Council of State, and Ms. Spyridoula Chrysikopoulou, Vice President of the Hellenic Council of State, for a briefing and exchange of views on the legal and judicial system of the Hellenic Republic. On the same day, the Ambassador shared with the delegation information on the history and development of the Hellenic Republic, the country’s political and economic outlook, social dimensions and foreign policy, as well as the bilateral relations between Thailand and the Hellenic Republic.

ASEAN Committee in Athens Presented Donation to a Charity, the Friends of Charity Association

On 21 May 2025 at the Vietnamese Embassy in Athens, H.E. Mr. Sathana Kashemsanta Na Ayudhya, Ambassador of Thailand to Greece, together with the Ambassadors of Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines, or the ASEAN Committee Athens (ACAT), donated the benefit from ASEAN Plus Bazaar 2025, held between 3 - 4 May 2025 by the ACAT in cooperation of the Friends of Child Association (FOC), to the FOC represented by its President, Mrs. Yianna Panagiotidou.

ASEAN Committee in Athens called on the Foreign Minister of Greece

On 5 May 2025, Ambassadors of Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines and Thailand, as ASEAN Committee in Athens (ACAT), paid a joint courtesy call on H.E. George Gerapetritis, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic. During the amicable and constructive meeting, both sides discussed the prospective areas of cooperation both at bilateral and regional levels such as civil protection, tourism, AI innovation, energy and people to people contact. The Ambassadors also congratulated Greece on her assumption of the Presidency of the United Nations Security Council UNSC) for the month of May 205 and expressed their willingness to work with Greece in the United Nations.
