Parental Consent for a Child's Thai Passport Application

- According to the Thai law and regulations, a person below 20 years of age is considered to be a minor and is required to have parental consent to apply for a Thai passport. The father/mother, or the person exercising parental power (legal guardian) who cannot accompany the child for passport application can make a letter of consent and must sign his/her name before an official at District Office/Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate.
- For the child below 15 years of age who is applying for a passport without the presence of a parent, a power of attorney is also required. The person giving the power of attorney must sign his/her name before an official at District Office/Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate.
- Please contact the Royal Thai Embassy in Athens to make an appointment in advance by [email protected] or (30) 210 6710 155. No walk-in is accepted.
Required Documents (please also bring one set of copies of all the required documents)
1. Legalization form that is completely filled in (Download File No. 1 below)
2. Letter of Consent that is completely filled in (Download File No. 2 below)
3. A copy of the parent's ID card or passport with the parent's signature to certify a true copy
4. A copy of the child's birth certificate (for proof of parenthood)
5. Only in the case that the child is below 15 years of age, please also submit:
5.1 Power of Attorney that is completely filled in (Download File No. 3 below)
5.2 A copy of the parent's ID card or passport with the parent's signature to certify a true copy
5.3 A copy of the authorised representative's ID card or passport with the authorised representative's signature to certify a true copy
* The Royal Thai Embassy in Athens reserves the rights to request additional documents and will not proceed until the applicant submits all the required documents for the Embassy's consideration.
