On 8 August 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy in Athens organised a ceremony to celebrate the ASEAN Day 2024 at the Ambassador’s Residence. As the current Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Athens (ACAT), H.E. Mr. Sathana Kashemsanta Na Ayudhya, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Hellenic Republic, delivered an opening remark for the event. H.E. Mr. Kostas Fragkogiannis, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic, expressed his congratulations for the ASEAN Day via video message.

High-level guests at the ceremony included Ambassadors/Chargé d'affaires ad interim of ACAT countries, namely the Philippines, Viet Nam, and Indonesia along with a representative from A9 Directorate for Asia and Oceania from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic. Ambassadors of ASEAN Dialogue Partners in Athens including Canada, Republic of India, Japan, and the Republic of Korea, as well as representatives from Embassies of People's Republic of China, the United Kingdom, Australia and the United States also attended this event.

At the ceremony, there were cultural performances from Thailand and food stations by each ACAT country to showcase their national cuisines.
