ASEAN Committee in Athens paid a Joint Courtesy call on the Minister of Labour and Social Security of the Hellenic Republic

On 23 September 2026, H.E. Mr. Sathana Kashemsanta Na Ayudhya, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Hellenic Republic, and Chairperson of the ASEAN Committee in Athens (ACAT), along with Ambassadors of ASEAN countries, paid a joint courtesy call on H.E. Mrs. Niki Kerameus, Minister of Labour and Social Security of the Hellenic Republic.

The ASEAN side and Minister Kerameus exchanged views and information on issues related to Southeast Asian migrant workers in Greece. The Minister stated that Greece is in need of labourers and hopes to receive more workers from ASEAN countries.

Regarding Thailand, the Thai Ambassador asserted that the Embassy places great importance on the fair treatment of Thai workers in accordance with their contracts. At the same time, the Embassy continually advises workers to follow Greek laws and regulations.
