On 27 October 2026, H.E. Mr. Sathana Kashemsanta Na Ayudhya, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Hellenic Republic, and Chairperson of the ASEAN Committee in Athens (ACAT), along with Ambassador and representatives of ASEAN countries, paid a joint courtesy call on Mr. Charalampos Vourtsis, Acting Governor and General Director, Hellenic Labour Inspectorate.

The meeting was very fruitful. The ASEAN side and Hellenic Labour Inspectorate extensively exchanged views and information on issues related to Southeast Asian migrant workers in Greece, and discussed practical ways to work together to protect the rights of the workers.

Regarding Thailand, the Thai Ambassador affirmed that the Embassy places great importance on the fair treatment of Thai workers in accordance with their contracts. The workers shall also be able to communicate with local authorities. At the same time, the Embassy constantly advises workers to follow Greek laws and regulations.
