On 19 May 2026, His Excellency Mr. Sathana Kashemsanta Na Ayudhya, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Hellenic Republic, met with Ms. Despina Daoutakou, Acting Director for B6 Directorate for Multilateral Economic Relations and Commercial Policy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic. They discussed on the accession of Thailand to the OECD (Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development) and the ongoing negotiations of the FTA between Thailand the European Union.
They also exchanged information and views on the trade promotion between Thailand and the European Union including the European Pavilion in THAIFEX - Anuga Asia 2026 in Thailand on 25 - 30 May 2026 where 9 companies will exhibit foods and agricultural products from the Hellenic Republic. The Ambassador also shared that the European Union just adopted more favorable Schengen visa rules for Thai passport holders (visa cascade system) which will promote more people-to-people exchanges and help expand tourism, trade, and investment between Thailand and the European Union.
